Leadership Team

Bethany Wright
President & CEO
Bethany Wright is the President and CEO of Side Out Energy Corp., where she is a dedicated advocate for small independent crude oil producers. With more than two decades of experience across refining, logistics, and crude oil trading, Bethany brings a rare, end-to-end perspective to helping producers place their barrels in the best possible markets while navigating an increasingly complex energy landscape.

She began her career in the early 2000s scheduling gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel through major pipeline systems for large refineries with operations in both California and Texas. In this role, she oversaw clean-product

movements across the Kinder Morgan CalNev, SFPP, and El Paso systems, allocating supply for both branded and unbranded customers.

Bethany later transitioned into the crude side of the business, joining a global crude oil production company where she supported the scheduling of crude within divesting assets. Following the company’s spin-off, she advanced into a crude oil trading role, managing both the scheduling and marketing of crude oil by truck and pipeline throughout California. In addition, Bethany has been involved in Carbon Capture and Sequestration efforts, collaborating with CCS teams on logistics and commercial support. She then returned to refining and distribution, where she could fully leverage her combined expertise in clean products, crude oil, ESG, and logistics.

Throughout her career, Bethany has witnessed significant industry shifts including pipeline shutdowns, consolidation, and refinery closures. Seeing firsthand how these changes disproportionately impact small independent producers, she recognized a growing need for focused advocacy and hands-on commercial support. That realization led to the founding of Side Out Energy, created to act on behalf of small producers, securing competitive offtake agreements, solving logistical challenges, and strategically positioning assets for long-term success.

The company’s name, Side Out Energy, carries personal meaning for Bethany. It’s a nod to her two teenage sons, both nationally ranked volleyball players, and reflects the resilience, precision, and competitiveness she brings to her professional mission.
